but We revealed to him (saying):
none has the right to be worshipped but
I (La ilaha illah)

Allah (SWT) says:
“That is because Allah, He is the Truth,

and that Allah,
He is the Most High,

Quran:31:30
The Arabic word Allah means God (the one and only true God who created the whole universe).
|
|
|
|
|
|
This wordAllah is a name for God, which is used by Arabic speakers, both Arab Muslims and Arab Christians. This word cannot be used to designate anything other than the one true God. The Arabic word Allah occurs in the Quran about 2700 times. In Aramaic, a language related closely to Arabic and the language that Jesus habitually spoke,
Allah! There is no deity save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.
|
The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying.

Quran translation 2:285
He is Allah, than Whom there is no other Allah, the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible. He is the Beneficent, Merciful.
He is Allah, than Whom there is no other Allah, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Superb. Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him).
He is Allah, the Creator, the Shaper out of naught, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifieth Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters;
Thankful for His bounties; He chose him and He guided him unto a straight path.
And We gave him good in the world, and in the Hereafter he is among the righteous.
And afterward We inspired thee (Muhammad, saying): Follow the religion of Abraham, as one by nature upright. He was not of the idolaters.
Call unto the way of thy Lord with wisdom and fair exhortation, and reason with them in the better way. Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth from His way, and He is Best Aware of those who go aright.
Quran Translation 16: 120,121,125
:36 AND WORSHIP Allah ( God alone), and do not
ascribe divinity, in any way, to aught beside Him.
And do good unto your parents, and near of kin,
and unto orphans, and the needy, and the neighbour
from among your own people, and the neighbour
who is a stranger, and the friend by your side,
and the wayfarer, and those whom you rightfully possess.
Verily, Allah does not love any of those who,
full of self-conceit, act in a boastful manner;

He hath no partner. This am I commanded, and I am first of those who surrender (unto Him).

He it is Who hath placed you as viceroys of the earth and hath exalted some of you in rank above others, that He may try you by (the test of) that which He hath given you. Lo! Thy Lord is swift in prosecution, and Lo! He verily is Forgiving, Merciful.

From Quran Translation 22:30-31
|
Those who believe and obscure not their belief by wrongdoing,
theirs is safety; and they are rightly guided
That is Our argument. We gave it unto Abraham against his folk.
We raise unto degrees of wisdom whom We will. Lo! thy Lord is Wise,
Aware.
And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob; each of them We guided;
and Noah did We guide aforetime; and of his seed (We guided) David
and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron.
Thus do We reward the good.
And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias.
Each one (of them) was of the righteous.
And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot.
Each one (of them) did We prefer above (Our) creatures,
With some of their forefathers and their offspring and their brethren;
and We chose them and guided them unto a straight path.
Such is the guidance of Allah wherewith He guideth whom
He will of His bondmen. But if they had set up (for worship)
aught beside Him, (all) that they did would have been vain.
Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command
and prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein,
then indeed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein.
Those are they whom Allah guideth, so follow their guidance.
Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for it.
Lo! it is naught but a Reminder to (His) creatures.

The Qur’an provides clear evidence that woman is completely equated with man in the sight of God in terms of her rights and responsibilities. Few examples of Quranic injunctions for the rights of Woman are as follows:
“Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds” (Qur’an 74:38).
“So their Lord accepted their prayers, (saying): I will not suffer to be lost the work of any of you whether male or female. You proceed one from another” (Qur’an 3: 195).
“Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily to him will We give a new life that is good and pure, and We will bestow on such their reward according to their actions”. (Qur’an 16:97, see also 4:124).
“When news is brought to one of them, of (the Birth of) a female (child), his face darkens and he is filled with inward grief! With shame does he hide himself from his people because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain her on (sufferance) and contempt, or bury her in the dust? Ah! What an evil (choice) they decide on?” (Qur’an 16: 58-59).
“O Mankind, keep your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate (of same kind) and from them twain has spread a multitude of men and women” (Qur’an 4: 1).
Islam honours women as daughters, and encourages raising them well and educating them. Islam states that raising daughters will bring a great reward. For example, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Whoever takes care of two girls until they reach adulthood, he and I will come like this on the Day of Resurrection,” and he held his fingers together. (Muslim)
At another occasion Prophet said;
“None but a noble man treats women in an honourable manner. And none but an ignoble treats women disgracefully”. (At-Tirmidi).

Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam.
He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he is.
(This is) the truth from thy Lord (O Muhammad),
so be not thou of those who waver.
And whoso disputeth with thee concerning him,
after the knowledge which hath come unto thee,
say (unto him): Come! We will summon our sons
and your sons, and our women and your women,
and ourselves and yourselves, then we will pray
humbly (to our Lord) and (solemnly) invoke
the curse of Allah upon those who lie.
Lo! This verily is the true narrative.
There is no Allah save Allah,
and lo! Allah, He verily is, is the Mighty, the Wise.
And if they turn away, then lo! Allah is Aware of (who are) the corrupters.
Say: O People of the Scripture!
Come to an agreement between us and you:
that we shall worship none but Allah,
and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him,
and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah.
And if they turn away, then say:
Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him).

Dears Readers,
Here I am posting some useful information according to my limited ability. You must ask to Almighty GOD for True understanding; Please Study Quran with an open mind and open Heart. Last 1400 years without change in Arabic scripture. Millions of Muslims remembering by heart. East to west, you could not find in any change in original Arabic. It is a miracle. Find out on your own. Translations do not have full explanations, for that reason you have to read some books of scholars.one of the popular scholars of the day was Ibn Taymiyyah. His One book of Emaan has good explanation about Quranic messages.
Many non-Muslims have come to incorrectly believe that Allah is the ‘God of Muslims’ – A deity somehow different from the God of the other faiths. It should be emphasised that the term “Allah” has no implied meaning at all of an Arabian god, a Moon god or even a Muslim god. Muslims are not claiming any exclusiveness when they say “Allah”. However Allah is simply the Arabic Name of the one Almighty God; the same name by which Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians, refer to God. The Allah comes from the term ‘al-ilaah’. Al is the definite article in Arabic, equivalent to ‘the’ in English, while ilaah means ‘a deity or god’. So Allah means The God. This is beautifully articulated in the first pillar of Islam which is to believe that God is One, in Arabic it would be,“La ilaha illallah” meaning“There is no god but God”
My best regards
Thanks,

Allah's Apostle (saw) mentioned the greatest sins or he was asked about the greatest sins. He (saw)said, "To join partners in worship with Allah; to kill a soul which Allah has forbidden to kill; and to be undutiful or unkind to one's parents." The Prophet (saw) added, "Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins? That is the forged statement or the false witness." Shu'ba (the sub-narrator) states that most probably the Prophet (saw) said, "the false witness."[English Translation]

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers.

Early Immigrants
The first Muslims arrived in Burma's Ayeyarwady River delta, on the Tanintharyi coast and in Rakhine in the 9th century, prior to the establishment ofthe first Burmese empire in 1055 AD by King Anawrahta of Bagan.[4][5][6][7][8][9] These early Muslim settlements and the propagation of Islam weredocumented by Arab, Persian, European and Chinese travelers of the 9th century.[4][10] Burmese Muslims are the descendants of Muslim peoples who settled and intermarried with the local Burmese ethnic groups.[11][12] Muslims arrived in Burma as traders or settlers,[13] military personnel,[14] andprisoners of war,[14] refugees,[4] and as victims of slavery.[15] However, many early Muslims also held positions of status as royal advisers, royal administrators, port authorities, mayors, and traditional medicine men.[16]
Persian Muslims arrived in northern Burma on the border with the Chinese region of Yunnan as recorded in the Chronicles of China in 860 AD.[4][17]Burmese Muslims were sometimes called Pathi,[18] a name believed to be derived from Persian. Many settlements in the southern region near present day Thailand were noted for the Muslim populations, in which Muslims often outnumbered the local Buddhists. In one record, Pathein was said to be populated with Pathis,[18] and was ruled by three Indian Muslim Kings in the 13th century.[19][20][21] Arab merchants also arrived in Martaban, Margue, and there were Arab settlements in the present Meik archipelago's mid-western quarters.[22]
During the reign of the Bagan King, Narathihapate (1255–1286), in the first Sino-Burman war, Kublai Khan's Muslim Tatars invaded the Pagan Kingdom and occupied the area up to Nga Saung Chan. In 1283, Colonel Nasruddin's Turks occupied the area up to Bamaw (Kaungsin).[23] Turk people (Tarek) were called Mongol, Manchuria, Mahamaden or Panthays.[24]
The first Muslims had landed in Myanmar (Burma's) Ayeyarwady River delta, Tanintharyi coast and Rakhine as seamen in ninth century, prior to the establishment of the first Myanmar (Burmese) empire in 1055 AD by KingAnawrahta of Bagan or Pagan.[25][26][27][28] The dawn of the Muslim settlements and the propagation of Islamwas widely documented by the Arab, Persian, European and Chinese travelers of Ninth century.[29][30] The current population of Myanmar Muslims are the descendants of Arabs, Persians, Turks, Moors, Indian-Muslims,sheikhs, Pakistanis, Pathans, Bengalis, Chinese Muslims and Malays who settled and intermarried with local Burmese and many ethnic Myanmar groups such as, Rakhine, Shan, Karen, Mon etc.[31][32]

History
Swahili[4] and Arab sailors formerly called the island Dina Morgabin (“The Western Island”). The Portuguese are thought to have been the first European visitors, finding it uninhabited in 1635, and naming it after Saint Apollonia.
The island was then occupied by France and administered from Port Louis, Mauritius. Although the French flag was hoisted by François Cauche in 1638, Santa Apollonia was officially claimed by Jacques Pronis of France in 1642, when he deported a dozen French mutineers to the island from Madagascar. The convicts were returned to France several years later, and in 1649, the island was named Île Bourbon after the royal house. Colonization started in 1665, when the French East India Company sent the first 20 settlers.
“Réunion” was the name given to the island in 1793 by a decree of the Convention with the fall of the House of Bourbon in France, and the name commemorates the union of revolutionaries from Marseille with the National Guard in Paris, which took place on 10 August 1792. In 1801, the island was renamed "Île Bonaparte," after Napoleon Bonaparte. The island was invaded by a Royal Navy squadron led by Commodore Josias Rowley in 1810, who used the old name of “Bourbon”. When it was restored to France by the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the island retained the name of "Bourbon" until the fall of the restored Bourbons during the French Revolution of 1848, when the island was once again given the name “Réunion”.
From the 17th to the 19th centuries, French immigration supplemented by influxes of Africans, Chinese,Malays, and Indians gave the island its ethnic mix. The opening of the Suez Canal in 1869 reduced the importance of the island as a stopover on the East Indies trade route.
During the Second World War, Réunion was under the authority of the Vichy Regime until 30 November 1942, when the island was liberated by the destroyer Léopard.
Réunion became a département d'outre-mer (overseas départment) of France on 19 March 1946. Itsdépartement code is 974.
Between 15 and 16 March 1952, Cilaos at the centre of Réunion received 1,869.9 millimetres (73.62 in) of rainfall. This is the greatest 24-hour precipitation total ever recorded on earth. The island also holds the record for most rainfall in 72 hours, 3,929 millimetres (154.7 in) at Commerson's Crater in March 2007 fromCyclone Gamede.
In 2005 and 2006, Réunion was hit by a crippling epidemic of chikungunya, a disease spread by mosquitoes. According to the BBC News, 255,000 people on Réunion had contracted the disease as of 26 April 2006.[5]Madagascar had also been hit by this disease during the same year.[6] A few cases also appeared in mainland France through airline travel. Then French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin sent an emergency aid package worth 36 million Euros ($57.6M U.S. dollars) and deployed approximately five hundred French troops in an effort to eradicate mosquitoes.

Some Note from above website>
1869 Arrival of Muslims from Gujarat and Kathiawar 40
Since 1869, Muslims from the Indian States of Gujarat and Kathiawar arrived in South Africa and
"Passenger" Indians by the authority. These immigrants paid their own travel expenses,
and came with the specific purpose of trading and commerce. They served as wholesalers
and retailers in urban towns, backward rural towns, coal mining areas and also in several
developed White centres in Natal and the Transvaal. They called themselves "Arabs",
probably because they wished to be identified as Muslims. These "Arab" traders from
Western India possessed sufficient resources to establish themselves as traders in staple items imported from India,
such as rice, ghee, dholl, tamarinds, dried fish, etc. Within two decades, they captured a large share of the local
trade in the rural areas of Natal and the Transvaal. This displeased the White traders and so in the 1890s legislation
was passed placing further restrictions and growth on the Indian traders as a whole.
1874 Arrival of Ismail Kajee and other businessmen from Gujarat 44
Another batch of Gujarati-speaking Muslims arrived in Natal. Amongst them were Ismail Kajee,
father of the notable A I Kajee [d 1948, aged 52], who arrived from Mauritius where he was in business,
and Cassim Paruk of the present Nu-Shop group of retail business outlets.
After 1875 more experienced "Arab" traders began to dominate the retail trade and even entered
the wholesale business. The statistics show that there were in Durban in:
* 1870 two free Indian stores
* 1875 ten free Indian and one "Arab" stores
* 1880 thirty free Indian and seven "Arab" stores
· 1885 there were as much as 40 "Arab" stores in and around Durban.
·
1884 Arrival of Esmail Mahomed Paruk
Another prominent Muslim, Esmail Mahomed Paruk, born in 1867 in Kathore, India, arrived from Mauritius
and settled in Durban and soon established his first retail business in West Street. Thereafter, he went into wholesale trade;
his firm becoming one of the biggest concerns in Natalamongst the Indians. As a financial giant, he extended
his activities into milling and tea estates on the north coast of Natal.
The magnanimous E M Paruk had an imposing house at 383 Currie Road, Durban, where India's first Agent-General,
Srinivasan Sastri , lived at a time when White-owned hotels were open only to members of the White community.
E M Paruk became a Trustee of the West Street Masjid in 1899 and served as Chairman of the Trust Board until
his death in 1942.
1885- Construction of West Street Masjid:second in 1920 Durban 52
1895- Shah Ghulam Muhammad Habibi or 1910 Soofie Saheb [Rahimahu Allah] 59
The Juma Masjid Sunnat Jamat Anjuman Islam, popularly known as West Street Masjid,
was built in 1885, four years after the construction of the Grey Street Masjid.
1890 Formation of the Indian Committee Durban 55
1893 Arrival of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi57
A litigation, involving £40 000.0.0d [forty thousand punds sterling], between the firms of Dada Abdulla and Company,
merchants and shipping agents in Durban, and Tayob Hajee Khan Mahomed and Company of Pretoria,
saw the arrival of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi [d 1948] in Durban. Gandhi, who came from Gujrat and
speaking Gujarati as well as Kutchi, "had been hired by the Porbundar branch of Dada Abdulla's firm to assist
their team of lawyers as an interpreter and adviser.

Muslim and Jewish students building a culture of mutual respect
Posted on February 1, 2011
TORONTO, ON – Muslim and Jewish students will come together to make lunch for the homeless on Wednesday, February 2 as part of a new initiative to make interfaith cooperation between the communities a priority. The new initiative is called the Tzedaka-Sadaqah Project.
The project explores how Jewish and Muslim faith commitments and philosophical values can inspire each other to build a culture of religious pluralism and mutual respect, creating an environment where people see similarities, establish connections and celebrate difference. As students prepare the meals, there will be an opportunity to meet and learn about the faith based roots of humanitarian work in both traditions, as well as some of the issues surrounding poverty and homelessness in Toronto.

[255] Allah! There is no god but He, the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed. Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower. Our Lord! Lo! it is Thou Who gatherest mankind together to a Day of which there is no doubt. Lo! Allah faileth not to keep the tryst. Quran translation3:7-8-9

(16) O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

(17) The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.

(18) Say: "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from": Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.

Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak, From the evil of that which He created; From the evil of the darkness when it is intense, And from the evil of malignant witchcraft, And from the evil of the envier when he envieth.
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The King of mankind, The god of mankind, From the evil of the sneaking whisperer, Who whispereth in the hearts of mankind, Of the jinn and of mankind. Q113-114

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His apostles. Say not "Trinity" : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah. Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.
Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship Allah, nor do the angels, those nearest (to Allah.: those who disdain His worship and are arrogant,-He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).
But to those who believe and do deeds of ri
ghteousness, He will give their (due) rewards,- and more, out of His bounty: But those who are disdainful and arrogant, He will punish with a grievous penalty; Nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them.

"And they say: "What is there but our life in this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture:"
(Quran, 45:24)
"
....follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!"

Ibn al Haytham - The First Scientist - Alhazen Biography
Known in the West as Alhazen, Alhacen, or Alhazeni,Abu Ali al-Hasan ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Haytham was the first person to test hypotheses with verifiable experiments, developing the scientific method more than 200 years before European scholars learned of it—by reading his books.
Born in Basra in 965, Ibn al-Haitham first studied theology, trying unsuccessfully to resolve the differences between the Shi'ah and Sunnah sects. Ibn al-Haitham then turned his attention to the works of the ancient Greek philosophers and mathematicians, including Euclid and Archimedes. He completed the fragmentary Conicsby Apollonius of Perga. Ibn al-Haitham was the first person to apply algebra to geometry, founding the branch of mathematics known as analytic geometry.
A devout Muslim, Ibn al-Haitham believed that human beings are flawed and only God is perfect. To discover the truth about nature, Ibn a-Haitham reasoned, one had to eliminate human opinion and allow the universe to speak for itself through physical experiments. "The seeker after truth is not one who studies the writings of the ancients and, following his natural disposition, puts his trust in them," the first scientist wrote, "but rather the one who suspects his faith in them and questions what he gathers from them, the one who submits to argument and demonstration."
In his massive study of light and vision, Kitâb al-Manâzir (Book of Optics ), Ibn al-Haytham submitted every hypothesis to a physical test or mathematical proof. To test his hypothesis that "lights and colors do not blend in the air," for example, Ibn al-Haytham devised the world's first camera obscura, observed what happened when light rays intersected at its aperture, and recorded the results. Throughout his investigations, Ibn al-Haytham followed all the steps of the scientific method.
Kitab al-Manazir was translated into Latin as De aspectibus and attributed to Alhazen in the late thirteenth century in Spain. Copies of the book circulated throughout Europe. Roger Bacon, who sometimes is credited as the first scientist, wrote a summary of Kitab al-Manazir entitled Perspectiva (Optics) some two hundred years after the death of the scholar known as Alhazen.
Ibn al-Haytham conducted many of his experiments investigating the properties of light during a ten-year period when he was stripped of his possessions and imprisoned as a madman in Cairo. How Ibn al-Haytham came to be in Egypt, why he was judged insane, and how his discoveries launched the scientific revolution are just some of the questions Bradley Steffens answers in Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist, the world's first biography of the Muslim polymath.
Midwest Book Review calls Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist a "fine blend of history and science biography." Booklistconcurs, praising Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist as a "clearly written introduction to Ibn al-Haytham, his society, and his contributions." Kirkus Reviews touts Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist as "an illuminating narrative...of a devout, brilliant polymath." Children's Literature adds, "Steffens deftly weaves an overview of Islamic history into this biography. Writing for The Fountain, Dr. Ertan Salik adds: "I congratulate Bradley Steffens for his beautiful work about Ibn al-Haythamand his advancement of experimental science."
Critics are not the only ones praising Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist; casual readers are lauding it as well. Abdul Jabbar Al-Shammari, the director of the Ibn al-Haitham Center for Science and Technology in Amman, Jordan, writes: "I enjoyed reading about the events in the life of the first scientist, Ibn al-Haitham. I congratulate Bradley Steffens on writing a fantastic and accurate book.” A. Nor of Ohio adds, "I find the book interesting, for it accords and recognizes a Muslim scientist his proper place as the first scientist who is responsible for advocating experimental work in verifying conceived scientific ideas (hypotheses)." And Reformistan blogger Usman Mirza, of Karachi, Pakistan, writes, "As Muslims, we are subject of taunts for our ‘backwardness’ and lack of secular, scientific achievements. I encourage readers to read a book on the 'first scientist', a Muslim in Islam’s golden age. It is a nicely written biography of Ibn al-Haytham by a westerner, Bradley Steffens. He has written about a neglected subject that needs to be read by all."
